Working with just one toddler is great, it is very stress free (most of the time).  But I do miss doing the crafts and activities that I normally do with older children.  I know that I will get to that again as NC grows, but I still miss it.  It isn’t quite the same doing them by myself.  Anyway, this spider web doodle is geared more towards the older child and teen.

Make sure you follow my Halloween board on Pinterest for more ideas.  Don’t forget to save the pin for later.

To do your own spider web doodles you will need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Pens
  • Black pen
  • Ruler

As someone who likes precision, I used a ruler to not only draw my main lines, but I also marked out .5 cm on each of them so that my curved web lines would all be equal.  Obviously, this is just the way I liked to do it.  If your little one wants to do it free hand, let them.  This simply a fun doodle.

When all your lines are drawn in, it is time to colour.  Again, there is no rule for this at all.  Let the creative juices flow.

At the end I went over all my lines with a black pen.  After finishing that, I decided mine wasn’t quite finished.  So, I went in again and added some extra thickness to each intersection of the web.

The whole project took me 45 mins.  Did I have other things I needed to get done? Yes.  Did I enjoy the doodling?  Absolutely.  It was nice to take some time to just create.  I think next time I will try it with water colours.
