I do love making keepsakes for my charges and their families. For 6 years I did handprints of BB on his birthday, they hung on the wall outside his bedroom. When I left, I made sure that I had prepared 4 more canvases for his future birthdays. I plan to do the same thing with my new family when it comes to her first birthday. For Christmas though, I have made a height ribbon Christmas ornament.
Make sure you follow my Christmas board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
To make your own height ribbon Christmas ornament you will need:
- A fillable Christmas ornament
- Ribbon
- Permanent pens*
*I used Posca Markers, but chalk pens would also work. I don’t think Sharpies would work for this.
Measure your little one’s height. NC happened to have a health review, so I knew what her measurement was. Once you have the height, measure of the same amount of ribbon.
Put the ribbon inside the ornament.

Then decorate the outside of your ornament.
Isn’t a sweet idea. Then each year you can keep adding the ribbon to the same ornament or make a new ornament for each year.
